Treatments

(What we do?!)

All Chartered physiotherapists have an extensive training in anatomy and physiology of the human body. This means that they have a good understanding of how the body works and what happens when things go wrong.

On the first physiotherapy appointment, the physiotherapist will examine the area thoroughly and try to make a diagnosis of the problem.

They will then discuss the condition and suggest the most appropriate treatment regime.

There are a wide range of treatment regimes and techniques available to the properly qualified physiotherapist, so they will decide on the most appropriate for your condition.

Physiotherapy is a recognised treatment by  health care companies.

Treatments available include:

Electrotherapy:

 Ultrasound,  Interferential,  Laser

 Pulsed electro-magnetic energy,  TNS

The electrotherapy helps to stimulate the circulation, relieve pain and reduce muscle spasm.

Mobilisation:

Small movements of one or more joints, usually of the spine, but also used for the peripheral joints.  Helps to free the joints and relieve pain and spasm.

Acupuncture for Pain Relief

Massage:

This must be done with care when dealing with injured soft tissues.

Done properly it will help relieve muscle spasm and increase the circulation to the injured soft tissues.

Rehab Exercises:

One of the most important aspects of the treatment plan. It is important to stretch and strengthen the appropriate muscles throughout the rehabilitation period. Recurrence of injury can often be prevented by keeping the body strong and flexible.

One to one rehabilitation can be arranged with a fully qualified trainer in conjunction with your Physiotherapy treatment.

We have a fully equipped gym on our premises which ensures treatment and programmes can be changed as progression is made.

Whatever your aims our fully qualified trainers can help you to achieve them.  We believe that fitness and health comes from a balanced development of activity.

We make sure that all of our clients work out with a trainer the whole time.
